ComBrio Announces Next Generation of Its Secure Remote Monitoring & Management Solution

ComBrio Extends Mutual Consent & Control Between 3rd Party Service Providers and IT Organizations

ComBrio, Inc., providers of on-demand support for on-demand networks today announced the general availability of Virtual Service Infrastructure™ (VSI) Version 2.0.  VSI Version 2.0 introduces VSI Service Control.  VSI Service Control includes the new VSIenterprise module, which extends mutual consent and control to all third-party service vendors on its corporate network.

Today’s large corporate IT organizations work with hundreds of third-party service providers to ensure uptime of servers, storage systems, uninterruptible power supplies, and an array of other mission-critical network devices.  ComBrio’s VSIenterprise extends mutual consent and control between these IT organizations and their third-party service providers giving both the enterprise IT organization and its service provider the ability to maintain bilateral visibility and traceability of all access points and connections.

“Regulatory compliance is forcing audit – and independent, third-party audit ought to be a strong consideration for every IT organization,” said Carol Baroudi, partner, Hurwitz & Associates. “Knowing exactly who touched your network, when and what they did is critical not only from a security and manageability perspective – it’s critical from a liability perspective as well. The sooner organizations address this serious vulnerability, the better. ComBrio’s solution adroitly provides independent third-party audit as part and parcel of delivering secure network access.”

VSI Service Control improves security and reduces cost for the enterprise and the third-party service provider by providing both with a homogeneous and highly-secure control for managing all access privileges while removing the manual time-consuming process both parties currently spend managing multiple access means.  Mutual consent and control improves the service provider’s ability to meet its SLAs, further advancing the existing and trusted relationship it has with the enterprise organization.

“Through one central dashboard, the enterprise can now mutually control which devices its third-party vendors can proactively monitor, as well as provide real-time authorization for device access,” said David Boulos, VP of Product Management at ComBrio.  “Additionally, the enterprise maintains a local audit trail of all of its third-party vendor’s actions, giving both the enterprise and the vendors the ability to meet both their internal compliance standards, as well as new federal legislation, such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPPA.”

VSIenterprise will also reduce the risk of a security breech by enabling the enterprise to instantly terminate any active remote support session, from either a single vendor, or globally across all third-party vendors.

ComBrio’s VSIenterprise provides the following new features:

  • Mutual Consent and Control of connections between the enterprise and the third-party service provider
  • Circuit Breaker switch for immediate termination of any/all third-party activity
  • Improved Security via advanced encryption and authentication techniques
  • Enhanced Regulatory Compliance (HIPAA/SOX) via audit logs and local report generation
