VSI Service Control

VSI Service Control eliminates enterprise security concerns by extending service approval and control to the enterprise customer.

The VSIenterprise software module for VSI Service Control enables an enterprise to manage their outsourced services by maintaining traceability, visibility, and control over all 3rd party Service Vendors. VSIenterprise provides a centralized control mechanism to securely manage the inventory of all devices that have been contracted to the Service Providers.

Enterprises can now control remote device monitoring and access on a per device basis, or define policies stating which network devices will be allowed or denied access to specified Service Providers. VSIenterprise enables the enterprise to act as the final authority to allow or deny a Service Provider request to open a ComBrio Directed Circuit™ in real-time, and to a specific device.

Using ComBrio, each managed Service Provider operates a VSIadministrator and VSImanager, the heart of the service delivery system. With the permission of the enterprise, the Service Provider places a ComBrio VSIgateway within the enterprise DMZ or protected network. The VSIgateway reports the state of the contracted network elements, and when authorized, enables the Service Provider to open a ComBrio Directed Circuit to perform remote maintenance and remediation without the security risks associated with dial-up, VPN, and agent based systems.

In effect, the VSIenterprise becomes the “gatekeeper” to all managed services related activities performed by the Service Provider.

VSIenterprises “circuit-breaker” functionality enables the enterprise to immediately terminate any/all connections, in the event of a security breach/risk.

A single VSIenterprise can manage multiple service organizations, while maintaining individual audit trails on each organization’s activity.

VSI Service Control features include:

  • Centralized dashboard allowing the enterprise to securely manage the inventory of devices that have been contracted to their Service Organizations
  • A “circuit-breaker” switch which can immediately cancel a single session or all sessions
  • Local audit report generation for all 3rd party service organizations, by vendor, device and session
