VSI Service Delivery is one of two software suites comprising ComBrio Virtual Service Infrastructure™ (VSI).

VSI Service Delivery logically extends the physical reach of the service provider’s network. Utilizing the Internet, VSI creates a secure infrastructure that enables the service provider to manage and monitor only the devices it has under contract.
VSI Service Delivery, provides:
- Proactive device monitoring through a secure communication paths between monitoring applications and remotely located end devices without need for dedicated connection or modifications to remote site security requirements.
- Ability to collect alerts/messages native to the managed device and securely delivery the information remotely to its associated application or management platform.
- Secure on-demand direct device management sessions via ComBrio’s Directed Circuit™ technology to perform remote remediation or upgrade without need for modifications to remote site security.
- Ability to securely poll remote devices for information retrieval without need for dedicated connection or permanent VPN.
- The ability to manage multiple customers under separate domains, eliminating the need for multiple instances of a network management application to maintain customer segmentation.
- Interoperability with all network management applications regardless whether they are industry standard or proprietary.
- Allow for additonal contracted support resources, or distribution partners to securely provide direct end-device support through VSIportal feature
VSI Service Delivery consists of three core software modules:
- VSIadministrator
- VSImanager
- VSIgateway

VSI Service Delivery also provides for optional modules that allow users to perform additional features such as:
-
-
VSIportal module for the extension of RPS network to 3rd-party support partners or sales channels
-
VSIenterprise policy management to control and report remote device visibility and access in real time.
VSIadministrator
VSIadministrator is the centralized repository for the status of all monitored devices. It also maintains and distributes the rules and polices needed to establish Directed Circuits.

VSImanager VSImanager provides for the termination point within the service providers location for the receipt of the encrypted monitoring and management data delivered from VSIgatways located at the customer sites.
VSIgateway
VSIgateway is software that resides at the remote location. The VSIgateway can reside on customer supplied hardware, or a ComBrio supplied purpose-built appliance.
VSIgateway collects the management data and status from all monitored devices, aggregates it, encapsulates it, and delivers it to the VSIadministrator and VSImanager.
The VSIgateway is responsible for the initiation of all Directed Circuits, thus eliminating the need to open any in-bound holes in corporate firewalls.
- VSI Service Delivery features include:
- The ability to establish and apply dynamic policy-based rules for end-to-end remote access
- A patent pending “outbound push-based” technology eliminating security risks
- Local audit report generation for all service sessions, by customer, device and session
- A simple API that presents remote devices as local to the Network Management Application (NMA)
- Secure and guaranteed transport of monitoring and management data across the Internet
- Automated assignment of a unique, virtual IP address to all remote devices, eliminating the need to manage IP address overlap, as well as potentially reducing the need for multiple instances of the NMA
